Delhi

Overview

Delhi is the National Capital of India and has now the NCR ( National Capital Region) including Gurgaon, Faridabad and Noida cities. The public trasnport included buses and metro as well as taxies. Lutyens Delhi is the region which has Rashtapati Bhavan, Parliament House, India Gate etc. The Five star hotels are located all over the city of Delhi and the International Airport connects almost all the countries around the world by direct or via flights.Delhi NCR area has a population of about 18 Million and is less densely populated than the city of Mumbai. All the contradictions and contrasts are particularly visible in the capital: denim clad youngsters rubbing shoulders with robed sadhus ( holy men), bullock carts travelling alongside the latest luxury cars.

Local Attractions

Connought Place is the downtown area where tourist are comfortable walking in the inner and outer circles of shopping district. Visit to Jantar Mantar, Haus Khas, Janpath, Chandni Chowk, Nizzamuddin Complex, Raisina Hill, Rajghat, Rajpath, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Red Fort, Baha'i House, Jama Masjid, Laxmi Narayan Mandir and Bagla Saheb Gurudwara are enjoyed by the tourist.There are several Museums including the National Gallery of Modern Arts, Craft Museum, National Museum, National Rail Museum etc. A walk in the Lodhi garden is recommended to enjoy the greenery of Delhi.

Jewish Attractions

There is only one Judah Hyam Synagogue located on Humayn Road opposite the TAJ Mahal Hotel and adjoining the Synagogue is a Cemetery where Europen Jews were also burried apart from the local Jewish Community Members. The famous Jewish General J F R Jacob of the India-Pakistan War Hero of 1971 is also burried in this Cemetery.
